Eli Tomac remains invincible in the United States

If last week Tim Gajser captured all lights and darkened the double victory of Eli Tomac in his country, this time the Kawasaki rider has definitely been the protagonist. His season finale is stratospheric: has won the last four races and two GPs, which speaks well of this young American pilot rider that surely will keep this level the next season. However, another of the names was Antonio Cairoli, who finished second at Glen Helen and so certified his silver medal in the MXGP. Tim Gajser was finally third and Max Nagl finished fourth, enough to secure his third position in the overall standings.

Eli Tomac finished the season in a momentous way. The American rider has won everything that could be won in this final stretch of the season, but it would not allowed him to be in the final top ten of the drivers’ standings. In any case, Tomac has been able to get an achievement that had not happen since 2000: he is the first American rider to win more than a grand prix in a season since Mike Brown. The consolation prize for a brilliant pilot.

Meanwhile, at Glen Helen we also knew the final result of the MXGP podium. And this time there was also no surprises: Tony Cairoli finished second in the weekend and certified his place on the podium. We have almost no praise words for the Italian, who year after year keeps competing for the championship regardless of age. Meanwhile, Max Nagl signed a decent performance that, along with a new setback for Romain Febvre, conceded him the third position in the overall standings without much trouble. It was a quiet season finale, though with great performances by several men, especially Eli Tomac.
