Schmidt seeks to get closer to Chareyre in Austria

The show of supermotard is back this weekend. After almost two months of summer break, the world championship takes up the pace in Austria with only two tests remaining. There is a clear favorite, the four-time world champion Thomas Chareyre, who returns to the stage in which got his last title and where he could be champion again. But it will not be that easy for him. Marc-Reiner Schmidt took his first win for the first time in the last Grand Prix and will seek to get even closer to the leader.

The young German pilot has been the only stable alternative to Chareyre this season. The last European champion made his S1GP debut on this season, but this has not prevented him to fight for the title from the start. Despite his victory did not come until recently, Schmidt is only 14 points behind Chareyre, who leads with 188 units. With just two races left, it seems difficult that the German can overcome the distance, but no doubt it has been, is and will be the main opposition to Chareyre.

Meanwhile, the Suzuki Racing Grau riders will try to improve their past results, which were already quite good. David Giménez, fifth overall, wants to get closer to the noble area of the championship and fight for fourth place, while José Luis Hernández and Marius Lita will seek at least to repeat the results in Poland. They were seventh and ninth, respectively.
