The Braktec’s Hydraulic Clutch System passes the Dakar successfully

Dakar

In the 2015 edition of the Dakar Rally, the Peruvian Tato Heinrich and Portuguese Mario Patrao, Suzuki Rally Team riders, were very happy with the performance of the clutches provided by Braktec. None of them could finish, but it’s a consequence of the conditions that the riders faced in this extreme and exhausting race.

Patrao, 10 times champion Enduro Raids and 8 in Portugal, was the most resistance opposed this Dakar and was very satisfied with the performance of Braktec products.

“At the very beginning I didn’t like it, since I’m used to the conventional clutch feeling. But in the first test in Spain I was amazed. The days before the Dakar it gave me a lot of confidence. And during the 11 days I was in the Dakar Rally, the behavior was exemplary and driving me to forget the clutch and its operation. Both, the second stage dusty, as the stage of the water with mud, were tough for mechanics of the bike” he explained.

But the Portuguese driver has no doubts about the day that was the most challenging for the proper operation of the clutch “to be honest, the hardest test for the proper operation of the clutch was before the rest day, with lots of dune and much ‘fesh fesh’. The clutch suffered much but held“, Patrao said at the end of his tour of South America.
