Tim Gajser makes history after winning the MXGP championship being 19 years old

The name of Tim Gajser is the most fashioned in the MXGP. The rookie has landed in the master category of motocross in the best way possible: winning the championship with 1 race remaining. Gajser has proved incredibly fast this season and has maintained the necessary regularly to stay on top. He has won seven GPs, 15 races, 8 qualifying races, has led 247 laps and has taken 15 out of 17 possible podium. These are shocking numbers for a pilot who was supposed to undergo a process of adaptation before to deliver in the world’s most demanding level. He has not only won, he has done it with solvency and threats with a possible hegemony.

The weekend in the United States was introduced by the exciting possibility of having two champions in major categories: Gajser in MXGP and Jeffrey Herlings in MX2. Both drivers finished second overall in the weekend, but with the goal achieved. The big news for Americans is that the crowd could enjoy a double American victory in both categories. Eli Tomac took the double victory in MXGP with his Kawasaki and was unreachable, while Cooper Webb won the second race of MX2 and ended up adding more points than anyone in the overall weekend.

It was a special race also for Jeremy Van Horebeek, who finished in third place in the MXGP overall after proving safe the whole weekend. The Belgian took advantage of the absence of the favorites for the final podium of the championship and slid into the top three weekend with his result. As mentioned, Bobryshev (6th), Febvre (7th), Nagl (9th) and Cairoli (did not finish in the top ten), all of them had a fateful weekend and could not fight with Gajser. The battle for the two remaining places on the podium will remain practically until the end of the championship.
